About Two Headed Giants

Two-headed giants are a team Magic the Gathering event. Teams usually comprise of buddies, parent/kid combos, and a lot of couples.  Both players play together, sharing a life total, showing each other their cards, consulting with each other and playing at the same times.  Because of that it is both great social fun, and probably the best way for a new player, or someone who is just curious what their buddy/kid/or SO likes so much about the game to get a chance to try without feeling any pressure to know all (or any) of the rules.  Think of it like tandem skydiving…you get all the fun, without having to worry about when to pull the rip-cord.(It is particularly great for Moms or Dads who want to have a really cool date night with their kids. This event is a GREAT way for parents to figure out what this thing the kids are doing is anyway, and for the kids to get a chance to be the ones who know what is going on for a change. ;-)Because you play as a team and can help each other out, the kid gets to be the smart one for a change, and the parent gets to play without needing to worry about “doing it wrong”. Also…kids love having their mom or dad help them try and beat another team.)

Each player (head) gets a prerelease kit and shares them with their partner to make two 40 card decks, one for each player . You’ll have plenty of cards to use to make interesting decks with that number of packs, and the cards you open are yours to keep.  Teams play 3 matches against other teams (since the team starts with 30 life instead of twenty, it is a single game…they usually last anywhere from 25-50 minutes.) If you win a round, each team gets two prize packs.  If you lost, you will most likely be paired up with someone else who had the same type of night, so it tends to balance itself out.

D20 tends to be a friendly place to play, and the Two-headed Giants are particularly so.  We have great players who take pride in making other players feel welcome and remembering that it’s a game, its played for fun.

Draft event using the 3-pack prerelease kits from the latest Magic: Commander Legends release. You get to keep your special prerelease foil and can use it in the draft, but it doesn't count as a pick. You take two cards from a pack at a time. Draft uses Commander rules, so you must only use cards that are in your commanders' colors, and your deck size is 60 instead of 40, but draft is also Limited, so you can use as many copies of any card as you have copies of that card in the draft. This set is made to be drafted by way of the Background mechanic, which allows you to run two mono-color commanders both in the command zone (one with Choose a Background and the other which is a Background), so you are not necessarily limited to only one color.

This is a continuous draft, so whenever there are enough people to draft and run a pod, you can. Entry fee for consecutive drafts (after the first) is always $25.

We provide the basic lands. Like all Commander limited environments, there is a special card that you can run any number of copies of even if you didn't draft it, which ensures you are always able to run your colors even if you didn't pick up a single commander, and we also provide that card. Please return your basic lands and Faceless Ones after the draft.

Welcome to Adventure's League! every Sunday from 2:00PM-6:00PM. Join the fight for the good of the realms or fall to the Tyranny of  Dragons. 

​The D&D Adventurers League is an ongoing official campaign for Dungeons & Dragons. It uses the fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons rules, and features the Forgotten Realms setting. You can play D&D Adventurers League games literally anywhere. Players use the fifth edition rules to create a character and bring that character to games anywhere D&D Adventurers League play is happening. 

We are open to D&D newbies and seasoned adventures alike. if you need help with character creation feel free to swing by the store early and our DM will be happy to help. Adventure league is an amazing place to start your D&D adventure with easy drop in drop out storylines. If you miss a week, you'll be able to jump right back in to the action. As for books, we recommend having a copy of the Player's Handbook or one of the many online resources for D&D. if you don't have an adventure league character feel free to stop by the store early out store DM will be happy to help you build one. if you want to build one at home please use these guidelines. 

start at level one, for stats use point buy or standard array, remember to fill out you background as well as your personality traits, bonds, ideals and flaws. you must use official Dungeons and Dragons books and resources for Character creation and leveling.
